eddm (every door direct mail)
EDDM is a USPS program that lets you mail printed postcards or flyers to every address on a postal route without buying a mailing list. Cheaper per piece than standard direct mail, with simpler addressing.
Standard direct mail requires a mailing list of individual names + addresses. EDDM skips that step — you pick postal routes (mapped via the USPS EDDM tool) and your piece goes to every address. Addressing is generic ('Postal Customer'), and there's no list-rental cost. Postage is significantly lower than first-class. Limitations: pieces must be larger than a standard postcard (minimum 6.25″ × 4.25″), and you're paying per address whether the recipient wants the mail or not.
