Soft-touch lamination is a velvety, matte finish film bonded to printed pieces. It feels like suede, dampens glare, and elevates perceived quality without changing colour.
Most lamination is glossy or matte film. Soft-touch is a specific matte film with a microscopic textured surface that absorbs light and feels noticeably warmer in the hand than standard matte. Common on premium business cards and luxury packaging. Downsides: it costs more, fingerprints show more on dark colours, and pens slide on it (so write on the unlaminated side if your design includes a notes panel).
