Booklets

10 variants · instant pricing · 1–5 day production

Booklets are the format for content that exceeds a single sheet but doesn't need a full bound book: catalogs, event programs, lookbooks, instruction manuals, magazines, and zines. They're saddle-stitched — two staples through the spine — which is the cheapest and fastest binding method for low-page-count documents.

Page count starts at 8 (two folded sheets of paper, four panels) and goes up in multiples of 4 since each sheet contributes 4 panels. Saddle-stitch tops out around 64 pages before the binding starts to break; beyond that, perfect-binding or coil-binding is the right choice (typically a separate product family).

Text-weight paper is the standard body stock. 60lb is cost-economical for high-page-count catalogs. 80lb feels more substantial. 100lb gloss text reads as premium and is the right choice for lookbooks and marketing-forward documents. Cover stock is typically 80lb cover or 100lb cover for durability.

Production turnaround runs longer than postcards or flyers — typically 5–10 business days from artwork approval — because the booklet has to be printed, folded, stitched, and trimmed in sequence.

Frequently asked

What paper are custom booklets printed on?
Custom Booklets use 100lb text stock for the body pages. 100lb gloss/silk text — premium photo-led tier. Thickest standard text stock; saddle-stitches well to ~24 pages, perfect-binds cleanly past that.
How many pages can I order?
Page count is in multiples of 4 (each sheet folds into 4 pages). Saddle-stitch binding covers 8 to 48 pages reliably; past that, the centre spread bulges and trim gets uneven. For higher page counts choose perfect-bound or coil-bound finishes at quote.
What size should I pick?
Standard sizes are 5.5×8.5 (digest), 8.5×11 (letter), and 8.5×5.5 (landscape half-letter). 5.5×8.5 is the workhorse for catalogs, programs, and product guides. 8.5×11 is the standard for instructional and corporate booklets. Custom trim sizes available as quote.
How should I prepare my print file?
Export every spread as a press-ready PDF page at 300 dpi in CMYK. Build at the final trim size plus 0.125" bleed on every outer edge. Keep important content at least 0.25" inside the trim and 0.5" away from the binding edge so saddle-stitch fold doesn't obscure it. Outline fonts before export.
Is the cover the same stock as the body?
On lighter booklets (60lb/70lb body), the cover is typically upgraded to a heavier cover stock (12pt+ cover) for stiffness. On 100lb-text booklets the cover is sometimes the same stock as the body (called self-cover) — looks more uniform but feels less premium. Configurator shows the cover stock per quantity.
How long does production take?
Booklets typically run 5–8 business days from file approval, plus shipping. Saddle-stitched booklets ship faster than perfect-bound (perfect binding adds a curing step). Higher page counts don't meaningfully add production time — the press setup dominates the cycle.
What paper are mini booklet printing printed on?
Mini Booklet Printing use 100lb text stock for the body pages. 100lb gloss/silk text — premium photo-led tier. Thickest standard text stock; saddle-stitches well to ~24 pages, perfect-binds cleanly past that.
